Big News: Atiku Abubakar's Son in-law was Arrested by EFCC

BREAKING: EFCC arrests Atiku’s son-in-law

Dailysunnews9ja

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Babalele Abdullahi, son in-law and Finance Director of group of companies owned by Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Paul Ibe, Media aide to Atiku Abubakar, confirmed this in a statement on Saturday.

According to him, the arrest was part of the plot to make Atiku concede the result of the just concluded election.

He, however, stated that Atiku has vowed not be cowed by any attempt to blackmail him into mortgaging his mandate.

The statement reads in part

“In a desperate move to have Atiku Abubakar concede and congratulate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at about 8.30am today (Saturday) invaded the Maitama residence of Babalele. They were however not given access into the house until his lawyers arrived.

“The EFCC agents numbering about two dozen came in 2 regular vehicles, an 18-seater Toyota bus (registration Abuja CS 522 RSH) and a hilux van. They came with a search warrant to search the house and office of Babalele and found nothing incriminating.

“They then proceeded to his office at Oakland Centre in Maitama and found nothing incriminating there. However, they took away some documents of landed property.

“Not done, the EFCC officials stormed his Wuse residence where they again found nothing incriminating after the search.

“Afterwards, Babalele was taken away to the EFCC office in Wuse to make a statement alongside Mr. Lawan Ayuba.”

“As a law abiding citizen, Atiku Abubakar recognizes the constitutional role of the EFCC and indeed any other agency of the government to carry out investigations, but will not be cowed by any attempt to blackmail him into mortgaging his mandate,” he said.

Election results: Peoples Democratic Party 'PDP' rejects INEC results

PDP rejects 2019 election results

Dailysunnews9ja

Nigeria’s main opposition party, PDP, has rejected the yet to be concluded result of the presidential election.

The results are currently being announced in Abuja with less than a third of Nigeria’s 36 states already announced.

The PDP, in a statement by its national chairman, Uche Secondus, however, said the results being announced do not tally with what the party has collated across the country.

“Firstly, I want to categorically state that our collation centers have all original results from every polling unit, in every ward, in every Local Government Area (LGA) in Nigeria, of which the international community is well aware, implying all results currently being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is incorrect thus unacceptable to our party and people,” Mr Secondus said.

Read his full statement below.
Our Democracy is Under Threat Protocols:

1. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is forced to take a stand and make the following pronouncements at this crucial point because our democracy is under threat of derailment.

2. I want to categorically state that our collation centers have all original results from every polling unit, in every ward, in every Local Government Area (LGA) in Nigeria, of which the international community is well aware, implying all results currently being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is incorrect thus unacceptable to our party and people.

3. Officials of both President Buhari’s government and the All Progressive Congress (APC), working with INEC officers, have tried to alter the course of history and disenfranchise our people through the cancellation and manipulation of figures for results already announced at polling units, nationwide, in Local Government Areas (LGAs) where our party, the PDP, had commanding votes; this must now be resisted by every well meaning Nigerian.

4. The ruling party’s strategy has indeed been murderous, undignified, and disrespectful of the wishes of the electorate, our people and the international community who have been in solidarity with our nation as we attempt to strengthen our democracy and its institutions.

5. In full view of the watching world, and despite efforts by our great party and its agents to adhere to every laid down provision for the 2019 general elections, the APC in collusion with INEC have taken aggressive steps, mostly through inducements, manipulation and incarcerations, using the elements of state power including the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army in particular, alongside other organizations including the Department of State Security (DSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to silence the voices of our long suffering people;

this is disheartening, considering the terms of the Peace Accord, which called for impartiality and non-partisanship by members of our security organization with constitutional roles to play during this civic exercise.

6. As results trickled in on the Sunday, February 24th, 2019, clearly putting the PDP in the lead, the ruling party and President Buhari dispatched high-ranking officials to coercively influence outcomes in different geopolitical zones in the country. For example:

I. The minister of the interior, was dispatched to the North West of the country

II. The Secretary of the Government of the Federation was dispatched to the North East of the country; while the

III. The Attorney General and Minister were dispatched to the South East and South-South regions.

7. With the INEC IT server hacked by agents of the APC to manipulate results, we can with certainty state that results from the following polling units have, for example, been tampered with, note:

i. Sarkin Dawaki ward in Doma LGA – Nassarawa state

ii. Doka ward in Doma LGA – Nassarawa state

iii. Agyaragin – Tofa ward

iv. 10, 000 illegal votes added to already announced results in Wurno LGA in Sokoto state

v. Additionally, violent and destructive attacks have been meted out to officials while counting at Lafia St. and police barracks polling units.

8. As if these provocations are not enough, our agents and officials are constantly arrested and in many cases locked-up for complaining that Card Readers were not in use in many Northern states, implying that all results from the Northern part of the country where Card Readers were not used should be voided in accordance with INEC guidelines.

9. I also believe, the arrest of Eng. Buba Galadima, who has been a great symbol of what is courageous about our people goes to show that one man’s ambition is greater than our collective good, and most probably worth the blood of all Nigerians.

10. In that context, I call for Buba Galadima’s immediate and unconditional release, as well as that of all officials and agents of the PDP, in the Southwest, who were mostly arrested on the eve of the elections where intimidation became the APCs sole election strategy.

11. Despite these provocations, intimidation and attempts to hijack our democracy and change the course of history, I must, in fact, convey to our good people the fact that the PDP is on course to victory and the Presidency; therefore, remain resolute and steadfast, because our party shares in your uncertainty and suffering, which must decisively come to a good end for us all.

12. Finally, and once again, we appeal to the leadership of INEC to remain impartial and not become willing agents to disenfranchise our people and derail our democracy, because the world is watching, and history will indeed pass judgment.

In addition, to the international community; we welcome your support for our democracy and extend our gratitude with great hope for our democracy.

2019 Election: Buhari vs Atiku on Final Battle 23rd February

Buhari vs Atiku on Final Battle

Dailysunnews9ja

Atiku {PDP}  and Buhari {APC}

After the Presidential Election postponement from 16th February to 23rd February 2019 has  finally arrived, and all Thanks to INEC for the postponement because who knows what could have happened and could have be of Nigeria by now.

The finally battle between the present President Muhammadu Buhari which party is All Progressives Congress {APC}  and Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar  which party is People’s Democratic Party {PDP} is today 23rd February 2019.

This battle will be a very tough one for both parties {APC & PDP}

While many Nigerians believe that the 2015 event which reassured the world of the stability and growth of democracy in the country, may repeat again, others feel it would be difficult for Atiku and the PDP to defeat Buhari and his All Progressives Congress party.

However, multiple polls carried out by multiple mainstream media and international research organization, social media and online have pointed to an impending victory for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Dr. Peter Obi.

The feedback was positive towards the ability of Atiku and Obi to deliver growth, provide jobs and began the urgent task of lifting a large number of Nigerians out of poverty.

In October 2018, The Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU, the research unit of The Economist Magazine, predicted that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the upcoming 2019 presidential election, which means Atiku will defeat Buhari

Dailysunnews9ja

According to the magazine “The 2019 elections will be a close contest between the ruling APC and the PDP. We expect the PDP presidential candidate to win.

“The next government is likely to be led by the PDP, the main opposition, potentially in a coalition with smaller parties.”

Supporting this premise, Williams and Associates, the United States-based polling firm which predicted victory for Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 is the same person who predicted victory for Atiku Abubakar in this presidential polls.

The polling firm had arrived at its conclusion working with data collected across Nigeria by its operatives through face to face interviews and using multi-stage stratification proportionate to the population sample responders who were interviewed on their preferences in English and local dialects as appropriate.

Politics: PDP To Hold Emergency Meeting Tomorrow

PDP To Hold Emergency Meeting Tomorrow

Dailysunnews9ja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it will hold an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting tomorrow, Tuesday February 19, 2019.

The meeting comes a day after the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus met in Abuja, where the party condemned the postponement of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and accused the electoral umpire of colluding with the opposition PDP.

Hours to the commencement of the elections on Saturday, February 16, INEC postponed the Presidential and National Assembly polls to February 23 and the Governorship and Houses of Assembly Elections to March 9, 2019.

Although the agenda was not disclosed in the invitation by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP NEC meeting which is scheduled to hold at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja at 12 noon, is expected to discuss the fallout of the postponement of the general elections by INEC.

The PDP has expressed outrage over the postponement of the elections, and accused the ruling APC of an attempt to rig the polls by allegedly asking INEC to stagger the polls. But INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had ruled out any form of political influence in reaching the decision, saying it was based on the logistical challenges that cropped up in the run-up to the polls.

While acknowledging that the decision was a painful one, Prof. Yakubu insisted that it was necessary in the overall interest of advancing democracy in the country.Sent on:8:29 pmFrom:Louis Eke Please post the above.

Daily updates: PDP Members Ask INEC Chairman To Resign Immediately After The Postponement Of Elections

PDP Condemns Postponement Of Elections, Asks INEC Chairman To Resign

Dailysunnews9ja

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has said that the ‘shoddy’ arrangements for this election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is a deliberate predetermined agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari to cling on to power.

Prince Secondus said that the postponement which is part of a grand design by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to thwart the will of Nigerians at all cost, clearly exposes INEC as a failure and calls on the Chairman of the Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu to resign immediately.

The PDP leader warned that the party will not accept anything short of a well organized electoral process devoid of manipulation, harassment and intimidation of voters and the opposition particularly members of the PDP.

According to the party stalwart, postponing the elections is a plot by the ruling party to cling to power.

“Having failed in all their nefarious options to enable them to cling on to power, the APC and the INEC came up with the idea of shifting election an action that is dangerous to our democracy and unacceptable”.

The National Chairman said that the APC in connivance with the INEC have been trying all options including but not limited to burning down INEC offices in some states and destroying of electoral materials to create artificial problems upon which to stand for their dubious act.

According to a statement from the National Chairman’s media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus said that the party is privy to all the pressures from the APC and the federal government to “arm-twist the INEC, to dance to their new strategy after their earlier ones failed”.

“With several of their rigging options failing, they have to force INEC to agree to a shift in the election or a staggered election with flimsy excuses pre-manufactured for the purpose.

“For the avoidance of doubt the PDP sees this action as wicked and we are also aware of other dubious designs like the deployment of hooded security operatives who would be ruthless on the people ostensibly to scare them away,” Secondus said.

He said that by the action of the President he has further demonstrated his insensitivity costing the huge cost after Nigerians including those who came home from abroad have all mobilized to their various constituencies.

Secondus recalled that the PDP had earlier alerted Nigerians that the APC was coming up with lined up rigging strategies including burning down of INEC offices and engineering crisis in PDP stronghold areas to scare away the people.

The PDP National Chairman also drew the attention of all lovers of democracy to the statement of President Buhari on the international media that nobody can unseat him from office, the party alleged that the President’s statement is as an indication of what he wants to do.

Killings: ‎Accusation against us lame, baseless - PDP

DAILYSUNNEWS9JA

The party in ‎a statement on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said the BMO blamed the PDP for the killings because the government is in a dilemma.

"The BMO, out of frustration of its inability to further beguile Nigerians into believing that Buhari is our 21st Century Messiah, is resorting to baseless, lame and political accusations against the PDP.

"The PDP is compelled to urge security agencies to invite the members of the BMO to provide information as principal witnesses to the carnage that have taken place across our nation.

"On our part, the PDP will not deter on its stance to continue to speak out against the bloodletting and killings of innocent Nigerians and to, on behalf of the citizens, hold the Buhari administration accountable in the discharge of the duty vested on it to ensure security of lives and property of our citizenry.

"We, therefore, urge Nigerians to note the desperate, concerted and sustained moves by the Buhari Presidency, as well as, its chorus boys to politicize the killings and engage in utterances that tend to derail investigations, provide cover for culprits and scuttle efforts by security agencies to apprehend those behind the dastardly act,"the party said.
