Lionel Messi has admitted Cristiano Ronaldo's "magical" Champions League hat-trick was "impressive".

Superstar Ronaldo bagged a brilliant treble to almost single handedly drag Juventus past Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16.

Ronaldo's goals helped his side overcome a two-goal deficit from the first-leg on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo's Balon d'Or rival Messi watched the magical performance before having his own quality-filled European night to assist Barcelona past Lyon on Wednesday.

Not to be outdone, Messi bagged a brace of his own at the Nou Camp.

The Argentine cheekily lifted a Panenka penalty in to get Barca on their way to a 5-1 on the night win and a place in the quarter-finals.

Messi also netted the third goal and said after the victory: "The thing about Cristiano and Juventus yesterday was impressive, it was a big surprise, Juventus went over Atletico, I hoped they would make more strength"

"Juventus has a lot of potential and Cristiano had a magical night."

Philippe Coutinho, Gerard Pique and Ousmane Dembele also got on the score sheet to put Barca in Friday's draw - where they could face Ronaldo's Juventus.

Premier League sides Liverpool , Manchester United and Manchester City along with Porto and Ajax are also potential opponents.

Diego Maradona was also impressed by Ronaldo's performance against Atleti.

Maradona said: “There are players who have been touched by a magic wand. We Argentines are proud that Lionel Messi is Argentinian.

"The other one is an animal. Ronaldo is pure power, and now he’s also a sorcerer. He said he’d score three goals and he scored three goals.”

Lionel Messi Told Barcelona To Sign Chelsea Star Eden Hazard | Dailysunnews9ja

New Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has told Barcelona to sign Chelsea star, Eden Hazard.

To fund what could be a huge-money deal, the 31-year-old Argentine also advised the club to offload World Cup winner, Ousmane Dembele, whom the club bought from Borussia Dortmund for €105 million last season.

Don Balon, quoting Spanish radio station Onda Cero, claimed that Barcelona were ready to trade Dembele plus a big-cash addition to land Hazard, who was the second-best player at the 2018 World Cup.

It is also believed that majority of the Barcelona squad are in favour of the club selling the 21-year-old.

This is just as Real Madrid have reportedly offered Chelsea £170 million for Hazard, a fee which the Stamford Bridge side have turned down.

Chelsea have also said they would not be bullied into selling the Belgian star, who still has two years left on his current contract.

New boss, Maurizio Sarri said, “He’s one of the top European players. I hope I can improve him but this will be difficult because he has reached a very high level.”

The 27-year-old Hazard, who has played for six years at Chelsea, is however believed to be seeking a new challenge away from the club.

Laudrup, 49, said, “I spoke to Eden Hazard a few days ago, he is preparing for a move to Real Madrid and it is a good move both for him and for Real.

“Again in Russia, he proved how good he is.”

But Chelsea are believed to be preparing an improved deal worth £300,000-a-week to keep their star man.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona or Real Madrid will be able to lure Hazard away from Chelsea
